Form Carpenter:

Under the general direction of a designated supervisor, Form Carpenters create frameworks, construct scaffolding, and assemble forms from different materials such as wood, metal or plastic. The Form Carpenter builds temporary wood or metal frameworks used to case concrete and other materials in construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Layout and build wooden forms for concrete to build walls, stairs, foundations, etc.
• Works with different types of formwork systems such as Symon forms, peri forms, hand-set modular grid beams, hand-set panels, table forms etc.
• Assist in erecting scaffolding to complete all projects.
• Fabricate and erect formwork using wood and proprietary systems.
• Help concrete finishers complete each pour.
• Frame wood, lay cinderblock foundation, perform carpentry, and install roofing and siding.
• May perform other carpentry work as assigned.
• Perform related duties as assigned properly and safely.

Required Skills:

• High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade preferred.
• 2-3 years’ experience as a Form Carpenter
• Must have knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the specific trades.
• Must have the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure, speed square, chalk line, levels and use other basic hand and power tools.
• Must be able to work well with other members of the building crew and other employees and sub-contractors.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions carefully.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license if required. 
• OSHA 10 Certification or equivalent training.
