JOB SUMMARY
Position Title: Director
Program: Health and Nutrition Program (Food Justice and Stability)
Classification: Permanent/Full-Time/Salary
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES
- Lead Food Justice departments including food distribution and kitchen teams.
- Identify, launch, and evaluate innovations and programming in support of food justice goals including community gleaning, mobile farmers markets, and other innovative projects.
- Ensure quality, compliance, and financial sustainability of food justice programs.
- Develop and strengthen community partnerships to advance food justice, including collaborating with Hunger Free Lancaster County Coalition.
- Identify and support the capacity-building needs of programs and partners by providing technical assistance, training, capacity building, consultation based on best practices and community rooted strategies.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, social work, nonprofit management, human services or related field.
- 5 years’ experience in food justice or access work, community engagement, community organizing, nonprofit management, social service, or program development.
- Experience leading staff and programs with complex requirements and regulations.
- Experience in leading change management and strategy development.
- Strong planning, organization, and project management skills.
Commitment to Equity: Deep understanding of and commitment to equity, belonging, and diversity. Knowledge of systemic issues related to food injustice, including structural racism, economic inequality, and environmental degradation.
Leadership skills: Strong leadership and strategic planning skills, with the ability to inspire and mobilize diverse stakeholders towards a common vision. Experience managing and building diverse teams.
Program Development: Experience building and implementing community-centered programs, partnerships and initiatives.
Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to build strong, trusting relationships with diverse community members, organizations, and stakeholders.
