Mechanical Drafter-spooled Process Piping fabrication

This is a role for a mechanical drafter who will work on various fabrication projects parts/pieces/components that are integrated into larger systems. Be fully proficient in the use of Acorn Iso-Express (or similar), and Microsoft Office. This individual will work with Project Engineers and Project Managers to prepare detailed drawing packages for shop fabrication and field construction. This person also prepares support documentation for review (such as P&IDs and bill of material). This is a salaried position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Generate construction drawings for shop fabrication

Coordinate effectively with project engineers on design concepts. Regularly contribute to the overall design fabrication effort.

Review specifications to ensure compliance of designs when necessary

Coordinate and independently manage workflow

Requirements and Qualifications

• Associates Degree in a mechanical drafting or engineering discipline.

• The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in preparation of drawings for shop fabrication or field construction.
• Knowledge of Acorn Iso-express
• Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar.
• Proficient in reading and understanding Architectural, Mechanical drawings.
• 85% of the position will be working in Acorn Iso-Express. Balance to be various spooled piping documentation for shop fabrication.
• Must be highly organized, creative, thorough, detail oriented, and focused on quality work.
• Good communication skills are needed. Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees and clients at all levels. Professionalism.

• Must have the ability to complete assignments within time frame specified by the engineering team.

• Must have the ability to actively contribute to the design process and assist in problem solving within a teamwork setting.
• Knowledge of Acorn Iso-Express is preferred.

• Familiarity with P&ID’s and Equipment Layouts.
• Experience in field work is a plus. Knowledge of 3D scanning is a plus.
• Piping design experience and knowledge of codes is preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check.

• Valid driver’s license required.
