TUTOR FOR A HIGH FUNCTIONING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ON THE SPECTRUM

Tutor Doctor of North Jersey is a boutique tutoring company located in Bergen County, New Jersey. For 11 years we have been providing personalized, private in-home tutoring and academic coaching to families in Northwest Bergen County and surrounding areas. We are actively seeking a passionate and engaging tutor to work with a bright and motivated 20-year-old student. This high-functioning autistic student is working towards his high school diploma and has a strong desire to continue his education at a community college. We're looking for someone who can create a fun and supportive learning environment that fosters a love for reading and writing. The primary focus will be to help the student find engaging reading materials that spark his interests, while also improving his reading comprehension and writing skills. The ideal candidate will be patient and understanding, with a knack for connecting with people. A flexible and adaptable approach is key, as the tutor will need to tailor lessons to the student's unique learning style. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys making a difference in a young person's life and igniting a passion for learning! The tutor must have reliable transportation and be available to travel to the Fair Lawn, NJ area and available to tutor after 4pm.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 2 years teaching/tutoring experience required
• College grads, upper-level college students, and professionals only. Teaching credentials is a plus.
• Great personality with the ability to build rapport with students and parents
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to create lesson plans
• Reliable Transportation
• Access to the internet, a computer, and/or a smart phone
• Availability during after-school hours is a must!
