Grinder Operator

A family-owned business that provides custom engineering design for tools an dies and custom machines, and custom stamping and machining services, is actively seeking a Grinder Operator who is passionate about the art of crafting top-tier products for a variety of industries (automotive, defense, etc).

The Grinder Operator receives performs grinder operations for detailed work. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and be proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment.

Job Responsibilities:
• Receives work assignment from group leader and performs grinding operations for detailed work
• Must be able to read blueprints
• Able to mount wheel on spindle, dress wheel to specifications using dressing device
• Set specified grinding speeds and feed rates
• Verify dimensions of work piece during cycle using precision measuring equipment
• Changing out worn grinding wheels
• Performs extremely close tolerance grinding operations on various sizes
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, perform all assignments in a safe manner in accordance with established quality procedures

Required Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of prior manual machining or grinding experience, including Surface, wet, ID/OD, and jig grinding
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to use micrometers and gauges
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Excellent math skills
• Attention to detail
