Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Tool Grinder to perform progressive machining on a diversified line of close-tolerance work requiring a varying degree of skill and machining techniques. Diagnose and rectify tooling problems and machine malfunctions. Work from drawings, specifications, and job layouts. Ability to set up, adjust, and operate a variety of manual grinders and surface grinders.
Responsibilities:
  • Sharpen and maintain production tooling.
  • Operate surface grinders with a high level of proficiency.
  • Use production schedules to ensure tooling is ready for production runs.
  • Using a shop router and/or a drawing, set up dies and the specific layout holding exact tolerances.
  • Repair production machines
  • Calculate and confirm the tool conditions set for each job.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Good Mechanical Skills to repair machines
  • Experience with surface grinders and a general knowledge of machining practices.
  • Excellent shop math – test will be given.
  • Able to read a ruler, micrometer, and caliper.
