Job description

Harrison Steel has openings for Hand Grinders on 2nd shift. This employee will clean and remove excess material from castings using a 30-pound, 5-horsepower handheld straight grinder. This critical position allows us to meet our company's driving principle of Satisfying Our Customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Grinds all welds, seams, and high spots marked by the line inspector safely and efficiently using large hand grinders.
  • Inspects equipment daily.
  • Communicates to supervisor quality and equipment problems.
  • Follows job work instructions and training matrix, where applicable.

Qualifications / Skills:
  • Basic math & English reading skills
  • Experience using an industrial grinder preferred
  • Ability to solve simple problems
  • Adhere to safety policies and practices
  • High level of personal accountability and attention to detail
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Work Environment:
