YOUR ROLE:
In this Centerless Grinding Technician - Manufacturing Specialist role, you maintain and operate our grinding equipment daily, ensuring the production of flawlessly high-quality parts. You begin by reviewing technical documentation-blueprints, shop travelers, and operation sheets-to precisely set up your equipment for peak efficiency. You consistently perform necessary routine maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and dressing regulating wheels, while constantly monitoring grinder performance. When minor issues arise, your mechanical aptitude allows you to act as a problem solver and quickly implement fixes. To guarantee absolute adherence to specifications, you diligently measure, examine, and test finished components using advanced precision instruments, meticulously logging all job data. Your dedication to superior quality motivates you to enthusiastically assist supervisors in mentoring newer members of the production team.
CRITERIA TO BECOME OUR CENTERLESS GRINDING TECHNICIAN - MANUFACTURING SPECIALIST:
  • High school diploma, trade school experience, OR equivalency
  • 2+ years of grinding experience OR 3+ years of experience working in manufacturing, production, or in a technical position
  • Experience reading blueprints
  • Proficiency with inspection equipment such as a micrometer, profilometer, and roundness gauge
  • Proficiency in basic shop math
  • Ability to set up and operate centerless grinding machines, OR the ability to learn to do so quickly
  • Ability to stand throughout a shift in a machine shop environment
