Description:

The Secondary Department Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, ensuring efficient production while maintaining high-quality standards. This role requires a hands-on technical lead who can manage a small team of operators, troubleshoot machinery issues, and maintain production schedules. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of grinding processes and equipment, as well as the ability to provide guidance, training, and leadership to their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a small crew in the department, ensuring work is completed on time and to quality standards.
  • Set daily and weekly production schedules, prioritizing work based on production needs and deadlines.
  • Operate and maintain various grinding machines, including and manual grinders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with grinding equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of grinding tools and materials, ensuring the department has the necessary supplies.
  • Train and mentor team members, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Maintenance, Quality Control, Engineering) to resolve production issues and improve workflow.

Requirements:

Qualifications:
