Overnight Centerless Grinding Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Position description:

Full Time position for Extrusion Machine Operator. Operator sets controls, runs, monitors, troubleshoots and cleans horizontal and vertical ram extrusion machines used to process virgin and compounded PTFE resins into tubes, rods and profile shapes. Additional duties: in process testing of material; operating centerless grinding machines to finish products; keeping work area clean and organized; and performing other related tasks as assigned. Opportunity for training in machine shop tasks; lathe and milling machine work; brazing; making, preparing and repairing extrusion tooling.

In addition to the job specific skills below, the successful candidate will have a desire to work in manufacturing, be reliable, detail oriented, take instruction well, and demonstrate an ability to work with others to solve problems.

Overtime available.

Essential Skills and Requirements:

• Mechanical Inclination: Understanding - - through education or experience - - how tools and machinery work.
• Shop Math: Know fractions/decimals/necessary calculations/equations.
• Quality / Measurements: Accurately read micrometer, tape measure or Vernier calipers for IDs and ODs, Measure TIR.
• Experience using basic hand tools – e.g., using adjustable wrenches and other hand tools to set up / clean / take down extrusion machinery.
• Production Paperwork: Ability to read/understand Sales Orders, Set Up Sheets; and Production records.
• Ability and willingness to learn new processes, equipment and operating systems.
• Dependable attendance required.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

Offer of employment will be contingent on successful completion of a basic measurement and math proficiency assessment as well as a personality index evaluation.

Desirable Qualifications, Education and Experience

Training as Machinist or Mechanic

General Maintenance skills – minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical knowledge

Forklift Operator’s license or experience

Ability to read mechanical drawings

Have a valid driver’s license
