La Scarpetta is a pizzeria restaurant family oriented looking for an experienced and quality and hardworking line cook/sous chef to join our committed team of employees. Full time , part time job position available.

Line Cook / sous chef Position

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients then cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes
  • Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep cost within forecasted range
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by restocking ingredients at work station and meeting prep times to ensure smooth delivery
  • Set up and clean station according to restaurant protocol
  • Maintain a clean work station area, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves
  • Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards
  • Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef

The ideal candidate for this position has had prior experience in dough stretching, prepping food items and can work the line. Additional culinary training/coursework is a plus.

Pizza Maker Responsibilities:

  • Preparing pizza dough, sauces, and various toppings, such as tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, onions, and meats.
  • Monitoring the temperature of the pizza ovens as well as cooking times.
  • Preparing high-quality pizzas according to company recipes.
  • Monitoring inventory and placing orders for more supplies as needed.
  • Cleaning workstations before pizza preparation.
  • Ensuring that all utensils and cooking equipment are sterilized before each use.
  • Plating or packaging pizzas accordingly.
  • Managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers’ orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Disposing of expired or spoiled ingredients at the end of each shift.
