We are seeking a self-motivated team player with exceptional manufacturing & engineering skills, strong work ethic, and a can-do attitude. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for upholding the highest standard of quality within warehouse and manufacturing operations. This role will be hands-on in developing and maintaining production test software, improving systems and processes to optimize efficiency and quality, coordinating with contract manufacturers producing our PCB assemblies. You will utilize Python, strong analytical abilities, and attention to detail to improve manufacturing processes within Waites operations. Logistics:

Location: Covington, KY

Hours: Mon-Fri (9-5)

Job Description:

This position will give you the opportunity to -

  • Develop, implement, and maintain final assembly test and calibration test software.
  • Establish and optimize systems and processes for evaluating the quality of incoming materials from suppliers.
  • Continuously improving manufacturing processes to increase productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. This may involve implementing lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Developing quality control systems to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications. This may involve conducting tests, analyzing data, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and quality records.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and operational efficiency.
  • Provide training and guidance to warehouse staff on tools, processes, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns and improve overall supplier performance.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and advancements in quality engineering practices.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the Python programming language.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
  • Experience developing and implementing quality control processes and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt, or similar certification is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Perform work on-site in commercial location
