Job Description

Location: Greater Bay Area

Compensation: $75K Base + Commission

Schedule: Monday – Friday (Hybrid)

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong organizational and communication skills to join our team and contribute to our continued success. The ideal candidate would need a strong desire to learn about natural stone and a willingness to network within the industry.

Industry Understanding/Interest

A BDR with a focus on architecture typically has various responsibilities geared towards understanding the needs of architects and designers and promoting products or services that cater to the building industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research to understand the architecture industry, including market trends, key players, and potential clients
  • Develop a deep understanding of the products or services offered by the company, especially as they relate to architectural needs
  • Identify and research potential clients within the architecture field through various channels, including online platforms, events, and industry publications
  • Implement strategies to generate leads, including cold outreach, networking, and collaboration with marketing teams
  • Build and maintain relationships with architects and architectural firms, understanding their requirements and providing tailored solutions
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations that highlight how the company's products or services can benefit architects in their projects
  • Conduct thorough needs analysis with potential clients to understand their challenges and requirements, adapting the sales approach accordingly
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized proposals and solutions that align with the specific needs of architectural clients
  • Engage in negotiations and facilitate the closing of deals, ensuring mutual satisfaction and long-term relationships
  • Work closely with suppliers, marketing, and other support teams to align sales efforts with PBM goals and customer satisfaction
  • Gather feedback from architects and clients to understand their experiences and preferences, contributing to product/service improvements
  • Provide insights on market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the architecture sector
  • Set and achieve sales targets aligned with overall company objectives, contributing to revenue growth
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and changes in architecture practices that may impact sales strategies
  • Prepare regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and key performance indicators for management review
  • Adhere to ethical standards in sales practices, ensuring transparency and trust in all interactions
  • Be adaptable to changes in the market, industry, or company strategies, and adjust sales approaches accordingly
  • Educate architects about the benefits and features of products or services, helping them make informed decisions
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with architects and stay connected with industry professionals
  • Effectively manage the sales pipeline, ensuring a consistent flow of leads and opportunities

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of architectural concepts, terminology, and industry trends
  • Excellent organizational, follow-up and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently but also able to work well within a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarization with products or services PBM offers, especially those relevant to architects/designers, strongly desired but not required
  • Desire to learn and continue with education to keep up with industry trends and innovation
  • Experience in a similar industry or educational interest in Architecture or Building Construction
