Location of Position 
This position is a fully remote position, with the option of having a hybrid work schedule if located near our NYC or Buffalo office locations.

Position Summary 

The FP&A Associate will play a key role in CleanCapital’s financing relationships and will be tasked with managing a number of critical activities for the company including financing compliance, performance analysis, annual budgeting and REC contracting. This is a unique role that covers both Asset Management and Capital Market responsibilities and will be incredible experience for the right candidate.  The ideal candidate will combine finance skills (including institutional training in excel modeling) with an ability to translate internal company information into useful, clear insights. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.  

Core Responsibilities 

  • Manage all annual operating budget requirements for internal tracking and financing compliance.  

  • Calculate quarterly distributions to tax equity partners, and CleanCapital Holdings from each portfolio company in coordination with Accounting leads. 

  • Optimize Budget vs. Actual reporting and analysis for all portfolio companies.  

  • Manage all reporting and compliance requirements for debt and tax equity financings in coordination with Accounting leads.  

  • Coordinate draws and principal/interest payments on CleanCapital’s debt facilities in coordination with the Accounting leads for the facilities. 

  • Conduct fair market value and savings analysis for solar and battery storage customers.  

  • Assist with project agreement extension negotiations with customers - Power Purchase Agreements, Net Metering Agreements and Land Leases, among others.  

  • Manage and optimize Renewable Energy Credit (REC) Blotter and advise COO on hedging needs.  

  • Coordinate with Energy Markets team on REC contracting.  

  • Maintain corporate model that tracks performance and forecasts future company cash flows and IRR.  

  • Translate quarterly financials and budget vs. actual reporting into corporate model.   

  • Maintain capitalization table. 

  • Create and maintain FP&A model for corporate cash position.  

  • Optimize corporate cash utilization, including letters of credit and capital commitments in coordination with the Senior Director of Capital Markets.  

  • Assist with risk management responsibilities for the company.  

  • Job description may evolve over time.  

  • Occasional travel expected. 

Education Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree in Finance preferred.  

Technical Skills and Experience 

  • Strong proficiency in excel based modeling. 

  • Corporate/project finance experience. Experience with clean energy tax equity a plus.  

  • Proficiency in accounting a plus. 

  • Authorization to work in the US.
