FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-Time

SCHEDULE: Mon -Thurs - 9 hours (in-office)/Friday - 4 hours (remote)

FLSA STATUS: Salary - Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: The Environmental Program Manager (EPM) is a corporate-level position and is responsible for the implementation of all environmental programs for W&T and reports to the VP HSER. The EPM is responsible for maintaining compliance with all environmental regulations in the Gulf of Mexico and Mobile Bay operations. Key environmental programs to be managed include air permit compliance and reporting, greenhouse gas reporting, BOEM air emission reporting, NPDES (onshore, state waters, and federal waters), CERCLA/SARA reporting and waste management. The EPM also assists in the development and delivery of environmental training for W&T employees and contractors. The successful candidate will work well in a matrix environment where they can influence employees to improve processes and performance without having direct authority.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage company-wide compliance, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements of various federal and state permits related to Air, Water, and Waste (e.g., Title V, NPDES, AQS, etc.)
  • Manage company-wide compliance with federal and state regulatory programs (e.g., SPCC, RCRA, SARA, RMP/PSM, etc.)
  • Provide oversight and support for the Environmental Engineer (onsite) with ongoing operations compliance for existing environmental permits (Onshore Treatment Facility near Mobile, AL)
  • Work with consultants as needed, to maintain regulatory compliance, including reviewing proposals, communicating scopes of work, keeping consultants on task, reviewing deliverables, reviewing invoices, maintaining project budgets
  • Communicate with plant/offshore operations personnel, HSER Department, VP HSER, and others on a regular basis to promote the team working environment
  • Communicate with regulatory agencies, as applicable, to maintain good relationships between the agencies and W&T Offshore
  • Revise procedures, manuals, plans, etc. as needed
  • Update and maintain all environmental data and any recordkeeping
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICAITONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Management, Science, Engineering, or equivalent required.
  • 10 + years of hands-on environmental experience required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8-10 years of hands-on environmental experience in the upstream Oil & Gas industry is highly preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER WORK REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of EPA and all other state and local regulations
  • Experience actively managing Title V permits is highly desirable
  • Experience managing Green House Gas (GHG) reporting is highly desirable
  • Experience with NPDES compliance in US Federal Waters is highly desirable
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish excellent working relationships
  • Familiarity with H2S environment and associated risks to perform adequate analysis and ensure compliance
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent travel between office locations (50-75%) to facilitate oversight, collaboration, regulatory inspections, etc.
  • Routine work is performed at a workstation on a networked computer
  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, and twisting as necessary
  • Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (safety glasses, earplugs, air respirators, appropriate footwear, etc.) when visiting field sites.
  • May be required to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic device
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions
  • Some exposure to industrial fumes and hazardous chemicals
