Location: West Sacramento, California

Salary: $155,500-$174,300 per year/DOE

Medical benefits-eligible first of the month following 28 days of employment. All other benefits-eligible first of the month following 90 days of employment.

Position Overview: Responsible for the overall leadership and management of a manufacturing plant. Fully accountable for meeting plant volume, distribution, quality and operating plan objectives. Provide inspiration, direction, coaching and feedback to plant leadership team which is responsible for meeting business plan objectives while building and supporting the Manna Beverages & Ventures culture empowerment, integrity, customer centricity & communication.

Language Skills: English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes.

Amount of Travel Involved: 25% of the time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of personnel, facilities and equipment and the strict adherence to the local laws, pollution control laws, safety, hygiene, electrical installation, etc.
  • Support and manage the business planning process to ensure alignment with company objectives, drive approval of specific projects, determine resource allocation and set performance targets.
  • Ensure strategies are understood and objectives are clearly set across the plant leadership team.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and direct the implementation of innovation activities such as installation of new production lines, packaging, processes and delivery fleet.
  • Continually assess current and future business environment and modify objectives as needed.
  • Optimize manufacturing and supply chain costs and manage resources to operate within or below budget.
  • Provide expertise to external organizations/committees/boards such as trade, industry or functional groups in order to represent the Company or customers and influence outcomes.
  • Analyze and lead action required for key performance indicators, financial reviews, process mapping and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize manufacturing and supply chain costs and manage resources to operate within or below budget.
  • Provide direct reports with leadership, direction, and coaching to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills.
  • Broadcast and communicate the Company’s vision and values.
  • Facilitate inter-department and inter-function communications to ensure smooth operation.
  • Take action to ensure talent is retained by providing development, appropriate work opportunities, and recognition.
  • Optimize the utilization of plant assets including people, facilities, machinery, warehouses, and distribution trucks.
  • Write and submit project charters and/or business cases in order to secure resource commitments (e.g., budget, personnel and business systems) and implement capital plans.
  • Mentors, challenges, and develops personnel in manufacturing organization with emphasis on change management, cross training employees, and driving employee ownership of Company results.
  • Leads and monitors the development, implementation and maintenance of standard operating procedures and operating guidelines within responsible functional areas. This includes compliance with FDA, ISO, OSHA, and other regulations.
  • Walks the plant daily. Observes supervisor and employee performance to ensure good work habits and good safety habits are followed. Coaches Supervisory staff and other persons as appropriate in case of unsafe/unacceptable practices.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a quality plan to bring and/or maintain MB&V’s Quality Management Systems and Policies into compliance with various quality system requirements, including ISO 9001/22000, and PAS 220, as well as customers’ requirements. Ensures compliance with current and future national and international standards, legislation, and regulations.
  • Partners with Human Resources and on-site staffing services regarding personnel issues, hiring and termination.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management

  • To perform this job successfully, must be able to perform each fundamental task listed above satisfactorily

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, related degree or equivalent experience required.
  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Manufacturing definitely a plus.
  • A minimum of ten years of manufacturing experience including at least five years in a leadership role, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with inventory management systems preferred.
  • Experience with hot-fill, brewing, and/or chilled beverage production strongly desirable.
  • SAP experience is desirable.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (FDA, ISO), preferred.
  • Experience with production equipment required.
  • Seven to ten years relevant management experience with progressive P&L responsibility in food and/or beverage manufacturing operations, preferred.

  • Ability to redirect or reposition resources (i.e., time, money and people) towards mutually beneficial business solutions.
  • Ability to provide oversight and management to synthesize/bring synergy to multiple initiatives by establishing courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently, adjusting priorities, establishing management routines to effectively track progress and identify issues, removing barriers and leveraging resources.
  • Entrepreneurial outlook, accountable, and strong at execution.
  • Knowledge of the principles of production management in order to effectively communicate and manage change in a production environment.
  • Successful history of change implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience working on a high volume and variability production floor, ability to quickly understand needs of configure to order, and build to order manufacturing environments.
  • Advocate of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of specific supply chain capabilities, strategies and interdependencies to perform short and long-term business planning.
  • Ability to incorporate strengths, weaknesses, external opportunities and threats into business plan strategies and execution tasks.
  • Solid knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Proven applied knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and methodologies is essentials.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with clear prioritization and organization.
  • Knowledgeable in Food Production Safety. Experienced in executing FDA GMPs.
  • Solid knowledge of OSHA compliant workplace safety practices.
  • Knowledge of elements that make up the supply chain and the interrelationship between these elements.
  • Ability to manage and execute strategies across the supply chain to reduce costs and gain efficiencies in the completion of a quality finished good. Ability to analyze, balance, synchronize, and synergize all internal and external resources and assets to ensure the progress and ultimate completion of a finished good.
  • Able to work well with all levels of employees and managers.
  • Competent in use of Excel, Word and Outlook.
