Job Description

Job Title: Cabinetry Designer

Reports to: Interior Design Manager/Sales Manager

This job requires Paid relocation to the Florida Keys.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • We are looking for a talented and experienced Cabinetry Designer to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing custom manufactured cabinetry, remodeling, & also FF&E specifying.
  • Industry experience in Kitchen Cabinetry design is a must.
  • This position will be able to take on complex projects from start to finish, work with clients to understand their needs and desires, and translate that into a functional and beautiful design.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
 

  1. Greets and assists customers on the sales floor and by telephone.
  2. Collaborate with clients to understand their kitchen design needs and preferences.
  3. Create luxury kitchen designs using various software including 2020 and Revit/AutoCAD or similar for rendering & modeling proposed designs.
  4. Assist clients in selecting materials, finishes, and fixtures for their kitchen design
  5. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines and budgets
  6. Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of kitchen remodeling projects
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in kitchen design
  8. Obtains final measurements from construction blueprints or may visit job site for re-measurement and evaluation.
  9. Utilizes 2020 and/or CAD system with information obtained to provide solutions to customers’ needs.
  10. Reviews plans with customers, makes revisions, and prepares final designs for approval.
  11. Specifying products & putting together selections for project, and working within the budget of the client
  12. Consults with customers on fixtures, backsplashes and countertops.
  13. Coordinates vendor visits to job site for templating countertops, or with tile setter for tiled backsplashes or countertops, as appropriate.
  14. Places orders, receives acknowledgements, and plans installation schedules.
  15. Follows up on pending orders periodically to ensure order is on track.
  16. Arranges for delivery and unloading of product, and meets installers at site with a set of plans to coordinate, supervise, and troubleshoot installation.

 

  • Meets with vendors in planning and kitchen displays, reviewing new products or services, pricing, and lead times.
  • Proposes new lines, products, or relationships with new vendors as appropriate.
  • Assists in maintaining showroom displays, particularly in the Cabinetry, Appliances and Tile Display areas.
  • Attends staff meetings to discuss new projects, procedures, and issues, as well as to participate or lead in cross-training opportunities, usually in conjunction with a vendor.
  • Provides assistance to other Sales Associates in carrying out the total solution approach.


Qualifications:

  1. - Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field is preferred but not required
  2. - Proven experience as a Designer or similar role
  3. - Proficient in Revit/CAD, 2020 or other design software
  4. - Strong knowledge of cabinet design, flooring, tile, and other interior finishes
  5. - Excellent communication and presentation skills
  6. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  7. - Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  8. - Knowledge of project management principles is a plus
  9. - Sales experience is a plus
