Summary: Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery mechanical equipment and facilities, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, air compressors, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work on small projects and tasks to improve manufacturing process.
  • Work on process development for current production lines and new products launches.
  • Keep up with current plant layout and update for current production lines and new equipment.
  • Work with outside contractors and internal departments on new lines installations.
  • Work with production managers on improving equipment up time include value stream mapping and lean manufacturing.
  • Conduct time studies to determine manning requirements and cycle time for production standards.
  • Work on jigs and fixture adjustments and modification to improve parts quality and production efficiency.
  • Be involved in developing/preparing production work instructions.
  • Assist with developing/designing processes and process flow diagrams.
  • Contribute in the implementation of APQP phases: Development, Industrialization and Product Launch
  • Contribute and work with the team the failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Contribute to the preparing of documentation production part approval process (PPAP)
  • Work with maintenance on trouble shooting production equipment, Stamping, Metal fabrication, Welding, Robotic programming
  • Design and fabricate process cell Jigs and fixtures.
  • Hands on 90% of the time working with production and maintenance in resolving equipment down time, spare parts, material handling and quality issues.
  • Other take on other assignments determined by General Manager/Engineering Manager/ Corporate Quality & Engineering Manager.
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, and demonstrate the ability to speak and read English. Employees must supply their own hand tools. Knowledge of and experience working with PM software is preferred. Education and/or Experience:
Associate Degree in Engineering Science or Technology plus 3 years’ Experience in related field.
Mathematical Skills:
Practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, measurement, logarithms, slide rule, practical algebra, geometric construction, and essentials of trigonometry, and to read and interpret metal rule, caliper and micrometer.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, is exposed to the risk of electrical shock and is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Some dust, noise, oils, greases, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane and solvents. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
