The QA/QC Manager (Renewables) manages and implements Aypa’s QA/QC program. The QA/QC Manager manages multiple projects and provides support and guidance to the HSEQ Director in implementing company Quality policies and procedures. This role supports and assists the HSEQ Director in preparing and updating the Quality program and strategies, including QA/QC processes, audits, QC inspections, NCRs, and Continuous Improvement.


Responsibilities:


  • Participate in project planning and design process to instill best practices;
  • Assist in the development of and manage work instructions for construction tasks across BESS and Solar utility projects;
  • Review all installation methods for conformance to the contract documents;
  • Ensure all materials and equipment delivered to the site conform to the contract documents;
  • Conduct pre-installation meetings with the safety manager and superintendent before proceeding with new phases of installation to ensure safety and compliance with the contract documents;
  • Perform field inspections, provide detailed reports noting any deficiencies in the installation, and make follow-up inspections to ensure corrective work is done;
  • Make all inspection requests and walk with the inspector to ensure that all inspections are complete, approved, and documented;
  • Be responsible for all QA/QC documentation and record keeping, including final QA/QC control submittals;
  • Communicate best practices to construction superintendents and field personnel;
  • Assist with the development of comprehensive task manuals and work procedures across BESS+Solar components and assemblies;
  • Assist as directed or required along with O & M warranty work;
  • Analyze new products for incorporation into future projects;
  • Assist with the commissioning of completed Battery Energy Storage Systems;
  • Assist in the development of a training curriculum to teach field personnel;
  • Responsible for ensuring Code compliance on the project.


Key Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related field;
  • 5+ years of BESS and/or solar construction experience required;
  • Highly proficient in technical aspects of BESS and Solar utility construction;
  • NABCEP certification preferred;
  • OSHA & NFPA70E training preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of complex electrical systems and components;
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude;
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player;
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others


Compensation and Location:

 

Salary: A base salary commensurate with experience;

Bonus: An annual bonus will be awarded based on both individual performance as well as the overall success of the business;

Location: Ability to work in the United States is a requirement. Preference for California, Idaho, and Austin, TX, but the workplace location is flexible, provided the candidate can travel as required;

Travel: Up to 50%, depending on project needs.
