Job Description

Job Description for Delivery Drivers/ Warehouse Worker

- Over 5 Years Experience Required

· Warehouse Worker

1. Prepare staging area before pulling customer orders.

2. Wear the proper safety equipment.

3. Sort and place product (merchandise) and materials (paperwork, invoices, pick up estimates, etc.) on racks/shelves or in bins according to organizational standards.

4. Assist shipping and receiving, loading, and unloading trucks and checking in all merchandise going out or coming in the warehouse.

5. Pull orders from storage areas and compare them with customer orders.

6. Pull and place orders in the proper staging area to avoid confusion and delays while loading the trucks.

7. When needed, transport merchandise to customers/sales representatives' vehicles.

8. Always treat merchandise with care and concern.

9. Check products from incoming containers to ensure correct quantity and product and confirm the company’s purchase order. Before unloading any merchandise, make sure that the container came sealed.

10. Identify damaged, lost, or missing merchandise from current inventory and from incoming containers and notify supervisor immediately.

11. Optimize space by ensuring that everything is in its correct place.

12. Throw out damaged wood pallets to avoid backed up in the warehouse.

13. Unload and load trucks as it relates to shipping and receiving. Count all incoming containers orders before truck and driver leaves. Sign documentation.

14. Stack items in the warehouse neatly and correctly from incoming trucks (Terroir trucks and carrier trucks).

15. Keep all safety gears in the proper location when not using.

16. First thing in the morning, scheduled a worker to secure the cords that plug in trucks overnight.

17. In the morning, unload any trucks that came in overnight with wine that was refused or returned from any of the customers.

18. Assist and cooperate with daily inventory counts and quarterly physical inventory counts regulated by the State.

19. No cellphones are allowed in warehouse while operating machinery at any time during working hours, only emergency calls can be taken.

20. Clean the pickers at least once a week.

21. Sweep and mop the warehouse floor at least twice a week or as needed.

22. Clean the bathroom at least once a week.

23. Wash exterior and clean interior of all company vehicles every 2 weeks.

24. Service the pickers and forklift once a month, fill the battery with water.

25. Empty garbage container both in the warehouse and the kitchen and replace garbage bags in container.

26. Maintain clean and safe work environment, keeping shelves, pallet area and workstation neat and clean for shipping/receiving.

27. Remove completed or defective products or materials for the work area, to avoid any accidents. Place them on marked areas or outside the warehouse.

28. Immediately report any accidents or injuries while working to your supervisor or the Human Resources department.

29. Contribute to team effort in getting the job done quickly and effectively, be a team player.

30. Before leaving the workplace, always check with your supervisor before clocking out.

31. The warehouse worker will frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Will frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects. Should be able to constantly perform physical effort by lifting up to a height of 5-6 feet and push, pull or carry materials weighting between 10-50lbs and occasionally weighing more than 50lbs.

 

· Delivery Driver

1. Prepare, inspect, maintain, and operate the delivery vehicle, as they are company property.

2. Every day you must check fluid levels, gas, and tire pressure on the truck before and after each trip.

3. Physically inspect your truck before leaving the warehouse.

4. Call Sales Representatives that you need to meet with first thing when you leave the warehouse to give them an estimated time to meet up, if it is too early, send a text message.

5. Please abide by the speed limit, road signs, stop lights and parking signs in accordance with the local and state transportation laws and in order to maintain a good driving record.

6. Assist in the warehouse per the job description duties when requested.

7. Load, unload and transport company merchandise.

8. Operate equipment and machinery such as hand trucks while delivering orders at customer’s locations.

9. When making deliveries, check all items with the receiver. Make sure everything is correct, all the quantities match with invoice, have the customer sign, print name and date on the invoice. Driver will leave one copy of the invoice to the customer. Once delivery is done, all signed invoices must be returned to the office personnel with any refused/returned merchandise.

10. Record merchandise, packaging and order information on driver log and any other form given.

11. If there is any shortage, mis pull, damaged or spoil product please take a picture and notify your supervisor and/or office right away.

12. Upon delivery on your route sheet write down arrival and departure time, case amount/ bottle amount delivered. Any items missing or refused must be added to your route sheet and notify your supervisor or the office personnel immediately. When giving the Sales Representative any order for them to deliver, they must sign the driver log as a proof of receiving the merchandise.

13. When the invoice has a post it with the note C.O.D., that means you have to collect payment at delivery. Before doing the delivery, you must contact the office personnel in order to confirm if delivery can be done.

14. You must adhere to the assigned route when doing deliveries or picking up merchandise, deadlines must be meet per customer.

15. You must be able to drive long distances and be able to stay overnight if needed.

16. Carefully accept payments upon delivery when needed and provide them to the office personnel once you return to the office after finishing deliveries.

17. Provide excellent Customer Service while doing deliveries. Any complaints from clients will be addressed by your supervisor or office personnel in a timely manner and according to the company policies.

18. If needed and requested by your supervisor, you must be able to help in the routing of the deliveries for the next day.

19. Provide special care in delivering our product (Fragile) to avoid breakage and losses.

20. Immediately report any accidents or injuries while working to your supervisor or the Human Resources department.

21. All unusual incidents must be reported to your supervisor immediately.

22. Notify supervisors about any major repairs and maintenance needed on delivery vehicle.

23. Adhere to company operating policies and procedures.

24. Maintain accurate driving logs and prepare vehicle performance forms.

25. All drivers have a meal allowance of $25/day (maximum allowance) when staying overnight and must provide original meals receipts in order to get paid for the meal allowance. Will get paid by check depending on the receipts submitted with a maximum amount of $25.00.

26. While driving stay at a comfortable stopping distance from the vehicle in front of you. No phones allowed without hands free/Bluetooth. No texting/ emailing while driving.

27. While driving, refer thermostat must be set at 50 degrees, for the white Dodge set to 15 degree Celsius, if the weather is extra hot set thermostat at 45 degrees and white Dodge at 10 degrees Celsius.

28. When returning to the warehouse with wines at the end of business hours, it is your responsibility to notify your supervisor or office personnel for storing instructions (leave on the storage area if possible).

29. All drivers and warehouse personnel are responsible for proper clean and care of the trucks. Trucks must be washed 1st and 3rd Monday of every month. Someone will be asked to come in the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month and wash the delivery trucks.

30. Assist and cooperate with quarterly physical inventory counts and any daily inventory counts, if needed.

31. At all times, when stopping at a customer location to make a delivery, when getting gas, food, staying overnight or returning truck to the warehouse, make sure the truck doors (front and back) are correctly locked.

32. Any broken bottle while handling the product will be responsibility of the driver/warehouse worker to pay it back.

33. The delivery driver will frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
