As a member of the Design, Content and Marketing team, this position will create, manage, update and measure content for the CesiumAstro website. As the website owner you will ensure that it tells the CesiumAstro story while adhering to our brand standards and utilizes best practices for usability and accessibility.

This position will work to collaborate on digital marketing projects and manage content and visuals that communicate and promote the organization and our offerings. This position demands strong attention to detail, proficiency in using web content management systems, strong collaborative skills, and an ability present information in a clear and compelling manner.

WEBSITE / DIGITAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create a new website architecture and implement new features and content, including graphic elements, navigation and page layouts.
  • Ensure that all elements of the website tell the CesiumAstro story through compelling content and design.
  • Organize multiple layers of web copy and maintain consistency in voice and tone, brand look and feel, and site architecture.
  • Collaborate with our teams to ensure clean workflow of projects through discovery, design, development, final approval and delivery.
  • Keep pages updated with ability to design in new CMS tools as needed.
  • Partner with the Engineering and Product teams to understand system capabilities and translate designs from a wireframe state to fully functional and responsive experiences.
  • Ensure that the website is mobile-first, and page load is optimized for Core Web Vitals.
  • Maintain superb organization, storage, and asset transfers for all visual materials.
  • To utilize best SEO practices to increase our site rankings in searches.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in web/mobile design.
  • Proficient skills in HTML, CSS & JavaScript, Node, Adobe Creative Cloud (PS/XD/Illustrator)
  • Proficiency building sites and interactive experiences with rapid prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure etc.
  • Experience working with video and audio streaming platforms.
  • Competency in social media marketing trends and modern digital design.
  • A strong history of proofing work for online deployment.
  • A history of incorporating video/motion graphics into site experiences.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new information and learn new skills.
  • Pull and present best practice SEO and Google Analytics reports.
  • Be familiar with the overall best web development practices.

IDEAL ADDITONAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to work on multiple CMS tools such as WordPress and Webflow. 
  • Skills in photography, cinematography, or 3D rendering.
  • Experience with Figma is a bonus.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
  • Strong understanding of typography, color, layout and website interaction.
  • Startup experience a plus: fluid, faced-paced environment, with ability to multitask within a day.
