Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Probate Paralegal with expertise in Texas probate law to join our remote legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling probate cases remotely and possess in-depth knowledge of Texas probate procedures and regulations. This position offers the opportunity to work from home and collaborate with a dynamic team of legal professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of probate matters remotely under the supervision of attorneys.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents related to probate proceedings, including petitions, motions, and pleadings.
- Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and other parties involved in probate cases.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, mediations, and trials by organizing case materials and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation for probate administration.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of case activities and deadlines.
- Stay informed about changes in Texas probate law and procedures and apply knowledge to ongoing cases.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing correspondence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Probate Paralegal, with a focus on Texas probate law.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and case management.
- Familiarity with remote work tools and technology, including video conferencing and document management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working remotely in a legal setting.
- Knowledge of estate planning and administration processes in addition to probate.
- Proficiency in Spanish (optional but beneficial).
