Job Description

Position Overview: The Accounting/HR Assistant position supports both the accounting and human resources (HR) functions at MLee Healthcare, you will play a crucial role in accounting, payroll and human resources functions. This person will also be working directly with the Controller to ensure all tasks are performed in a timely manner and within the parameters of the procedures set in place.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Function:

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Assist with daily deposits
  • Processing vendor inquiries and maintaining vendor files
  • Maintain weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Process and issue payment for distribution payments
  • Assist in administrative duties for the corporate

HR Functions:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of weekly and bi-weekly payroll
  • Assist in HR functions such as onboarding and offboarding of employees and contractors.
  • Assist with benefits administration
  • Creation of employee files and HRIS database input.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation through E-Verify
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, preferred
  • Accounting: 2-3 years’ experience (required)
  • Human Resources: 1 year of experience (required)
  • QuickBooks: 2-3 years; of experience (required)
  • ADP: 1-2 years of experience (preferred)
  • Proficient in HRIS and payroll software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and reliability are required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Adherence to ethical conduct and integrity in all activities.
