Night Shift Press Brake Operator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal
• Makes machine adjustments (back gauge, ram, etc) and changes dies as necessary
• Lifts, positions, and secures work piece between dies of machine, holding fixtures, dies to machine bed, using gauges, templates, shims and hand tools
• Inspects work piece for defects and drawing specifications
• Measures work piece and verifies dimensions and weight, using calipers, template, straightedge, and scale.
• Perform other related operations as required or directed. May work at different workstations as production needs require.

Qualifications, Trainings, & Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Reasoning: ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
• Mathematical: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute ratio, rate, and percent; ability to read and interpret metal rule.
• Language: good command of the English language, both written and verbal

Physical/Mental Demands:

• Medium physical work equal to exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Regularly required to stand, bend and reach.

Environmental Working Conditions:

• Work performed in a shop environment
• Exposed to any number of elements, but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable
• May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another during the assembly process.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
