This position provides tactical support in the execution of communications initiatives for the Culinary Health Fund and its affiliates. It is responsible for creating impactful communications that help our participants and network of providers better understand the benefits and resources offered through the Fund. It also plays a role in the development of engaging employee communications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Create communication materials such as booklets, brochures, flyers, mailers, newsletters, directories, forms, brochures for participants, providers, and employees
  • Responsible for the development and oversight of complex communications campaigns, including health center campaigns. wellness campaigns, and benefit enhancement campaigns
  • Manages projects through full life cycle which includes understanding the goals of the project and key target audience and timelines to meet project deliverables
  • Consult with other departments to draft, revise, proofread, approve, produce, and distribute bilingual materials
  • Design and write communication materials that follow health literacy and plain language principles
  • Foster positive working relationships with print vendors
  • Order, print, and deliver promotional materials
  • Create and distribute legally required communication materials including but not limited to Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), Summary of Benefits (SBCs), Summary of Material Modifications (SMMs)
  • Field test materials and interact with our target audiences to better understand their needs
  • Keep benefit materials for all health plans up to date
  • Distribute communication materials as needed
  • Develop class materials for participant wellness programs
  • Collaborate with team members to create digital communications
  • Maintains and updates individual communication projects, priorities, and workflows on the team’s project management software
  • Collaborates with other departments to identify stories that highlight the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic goals
  • Support and coordinate Union liaison operations, projects, special events, and enrollments
  • Perform the above-listed position functions independently (or with limited supervision) and within time frame defined for the specific task by Fund Management.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 ~ 5 years of direct experience minimum
  • Experience working with Adobe Suites and InDesign
  • Working knowledge and experience in a Union operation and/or Taft-Hartley environment desirable
  • Preferred experience in healthcare environments
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus

Salary range for this position: Salary $57,900 - $72,400. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to: relevant experience, qualifications, expertise, certifications, licenses, education or equivalent work experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.

Work Schedule (may vary to meet business needs): Monday~Friday, 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week) with potential for hybrid work-from-home arrangement.
