Title: Maintenance Laborer - Youth Hire

Location: Kotzebue, AK

Status: Part-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Laborer is responsible to assist in general cleanup and maintenance for all of KIC's properties.

Maintain outstanding customer service and support maintenance team all while infusing the traditional values of the Inupiat people, which include adaptability, honesty, hard work, cooperation, integrity and a commitment to quality into the work place.

This position is temporary and intended for summer youth hire.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Cleaning of all KIC properties, office and grounds.
2. Complete all work orders tasks assigned in a timely manner.
3. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds

Working Environment:

This is a fast paced multi-tasking environment requiring regular attendance of 40 hours per week. The employee is exposed to outside weather conditions. Employee required to work both with a team and individually.

• Required to work standing up, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment
• Speak and listen, both over the phone and in person to customers and co-workers
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to work in a seated position, climb or balance and taste or smell.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 30lbs
• Vision requirements include: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
