Company and Role Summary

The Lisbon Group provides services within three primary core competencies: Engineering, EPC project execution and management, and Operations Services. We use our recognized expertise in upstream, midstream and LNG production facilities to provide full multi-disciplinary engineering services, EPC Contracting, and operational services. We are a learning organization and take the lessons learned from the projects we complete to continuously improve each of our core competencies.

 

We are looking for a Lead Designer to provide exceptional design services for assigned projects with a drive to push projects to completion and ability to multi-task and manage multiple small to medium size projects. This role will lead the design team and oversee project design work along with drafting deliverables.

 

What You Will do

  • Lead development initiatives for the design/drafting team, and provide training to other designers as needed
  • Act as a liaison between engineering disciplines and the design team
  • Coordinate the design/drafting team workload, project deliverables, and schedule deadlines
  • Support engineering disciplines, project team, and field services with drawings, troubleshooting, and technical guidance
  • Develop process flow diagrams (PFD’s)
  • Generate intelligent piping instrumentation diagrams (PID's)
  • Generate intelligent CAD-based 3D models through conceptual, FEED, and detailed design phases
  • Attend and facilitate 3D model review sessions with the project team and client.
  • Design standard template equipment modeling
  • Produce custom equipment modeling
  • Create assemblies, X-ref’s etc.
  • Design project piping and equipment layout concepts
  • Develop plot plan and piping and equipment layout drawings
  • Create general arrangements, orthographic, piping isometrics, X-REF, etc.
  • Develop material take-off (MTO) for the projects

     

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Associate degree in a related technical discipline or field, with relevant work experience
    • We are an engineering and EPC contractor- career dedicated to design work for EPC or engineering contractor experience required
    • 12+ years mechanical design experience in oil and gas in related offshore and onshore upstream, midstream, and LNG facilities
    • Previous lead/supervisory experience highly preferred
    • A proven ability in full project life-cycle delivery (2D and 3D) from PFD, PID, through mechanical 3D deliverables
    • A proven ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
    • Approximately 90% of your work involves internal interaction, with <10% external, primarily with vendors and customers
    • Ability to develop 3D models from 3D scan and point cloud
    • Electrical drafting including control panel, cable schedules, etc. a plus but not required
    • Field experience including as-building experience a plus
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • AutoCAD Plant 3D experience required

      Schedule:

      Monday to Friday (though making self-available after hours when necessary)
