Job Description

KVC Kansas represents one of the strongest and broadest child welfare and behavioral healthcare continuums in the nation. We are responsible for the care of all children who are served by the Kansas Department for Children and Families in the Kansas City Metro and East Regions. KVC’s clientele represent diverse backgrounds and KVC is seeking to enhance and expand our diversity in order to better serve our clients.

KVC is seeking an Assessment Worker!!! The Assessment Worker will partner with the case management team in the development of specialized assessments emphasizing strengths, resources and capacities as well as encouraging families to take the lead in developing their case plan.


There is a $2,000 Sign on bonus associated with this position!!! ***The Sign on Bonus is only for External applicants only***

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Other duties may be assigned according to qualification of staff and development of programs.

  • To continue to build a child welfare system that is safe, secure, and stable; family-centered; connected to the community; and which relies on evidence-based practice necessary to support contract services in Kansas
  • Partner with the case management team to complete Family-Based Assessment and required evidence-based assessments
  • Partner with the case management team to facilitate the Initial Team meeting within 48 hours of referral
  • Assist with the facilitation of the Icebreaker meeting between the caregiver and placement resource
  • Assist in training and/or consultation for the case management team on the completion or scoring of evidence-based assessments
  • Facilitate Safe & Connected Framework during the initial case plan
  • Assist in training and/or consultation for the case management team on Safe & Connected Framework facilitation

Education:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, community counseling, human development, child and family development, applied family and youth sciences, public health, health sciences, trauma studies, sociology/social services, substance abuse/addictions, early childhood, education, or psychology from an accredited college/university

Licensure/Certification:

Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance required.

Experience:

Two or more years of experience with children and family services

Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as Outlook email.

Preferred Skills:

Licensure from the KS BSRB preferred
