About the Infrastructure Engineer position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer who will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and improving IT infrastructure within cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform, as well as supporting traditional self-hosted datacenter infrastructure across our global infrastructure footprint. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of ownership in their areas of responsibility, and will consistently work as part of the team to improve our overall posture around Infrastructure.

What you'll do as an Infrastructure Engineer:

• Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot physical servers, storage, virtual machines, and service-related appliances.
• Implements best practices for the configuration, installation, support, and maintenance of critical software and hardware components.
• Collaborate with the Architecture team on implementation and improvement of IaC and CI/CD pipelines that enable the high-velocity deliverables of the Operations team.
• Implements and maintains capacity monitoring and capacity additions to the system.
• Ensures all installs and upgrades of OS, Hypervisor, and firmware are conducted in line with established processes.
• Ensures monitoring of performance, security and uptime are occurring as per the defined policies.
• Ensures that all system backups and data replication is occurring per the documented RTO and RPO requirements of customers.
• Participates in the regular testing of backup and DR systems to ensure systems are functioning as expected.
• Works closely with the NetSec team to implement and maintain security policies and practices to protect IT infrastructure from cyber threats.
• Completes assigned patching in line with the current security policy and customer requirements
• Follow Change Management processes to implement production configuration changes.
• Follow Problem Management processes to troubleshoot and resolve recurring issues.
• Participates in the on-call rotation to ensure 24 x 7 support of IT operations.
• Act as a mentor within the Infrastructure team, providing guidance, training, and knowledge sharing on the previously listed responsibilities.

What you'll need to be a successful Infrastructure Engineer :

• 2 to 4 years of experience as an infrastructure engineer, systems engineer, systems administrator, or similar position.
• Handles moderately complex challenges and escalates more complex issues to tier 3 and 4 engineers, while continuing to work with them towards a solution.
• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter as detailed in essential functions.
• Provides coaching and mentoring to tier 1 engineers.
• Technically proficient with Windows Server, VMware, storage technologies, and cloud providers such as GCP or Azure.
• Experience with Linux Administration is highly desirable.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD (GitLab, Azure DevOps) highly desirable.
• Familiarity with management of Containers and supporting infrastructure a plus.

• Analytical thinking skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Self-starter operating with sound judgment and a bias toward taking action.
• Australian Citizenship or Australian Permanent Resident status.
