Row 34 is an award winning high-energy neighborhood oyster bar with locations in Boston, Cambridge and Burlington, MA as well as Portsmouth, NH.

We are in search of a prep cook to join our team!

You will be preparing ingredients for a variety of dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy. You are passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences through quality food and preparation. While previous experience is a plus, we can train the right person who has a great work ethic and the willingness to learn. You should be able to handle multiple tasks and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere. Ideally, you are available 5 days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
• Follow prep list written out by a chef on a daily basis
• Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
• Ensure food is stored and prepared at the correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters, where appropriate
• Maintain a neat prep station
• Respond to chef/manager feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism

Qualifications:

• Must have a positive work attitude
• Previous experience as a restaurant prep cook preferred but not required
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
• Ability to work standing for 8+ hours

Compensation is competitive (starting at entry level of $17/hr - up to $20/hr with experience and full availability)
