JOB DESCRIPTION – Plant Labor 2nd and 3rd Shift
Summary:
This position is responsible for performing the daily production functions for the Service Center with a concentration on safety, product quality, and operational efficiency of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform all of the below functions satisfactorily:
- Loader
Loaders move containers from stacks to the line for the opener. Loaders must move an average of 1000 containers or more per hour. Loaders must be able to lift and carry from pallets to the line in stacks of 6 to 8 containers at a time for a total of up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Sorter
Sorters separate containers into different sizes and must set damaged containers aside and clean the work area every day. Sorters must average 1000 or more containers per hour. Work requires operators to stand for long periods of time. Operators must be able to lift containers in stacks of up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Quality Control
QC removes debris and stickers from containers and separates them into different sizes. We must set damaged containers aside and clean the work area every day. QC must average 1000 or more containers per hour. Work requires operators to stand for long periods of time. Operators must be able to lift containers in stacks of up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Opener
Openers erect containers and place them on a conveyor belt. We must set damaged containers aside and clean the work area every day. Openers must average 1000 or more containers per hour. Work requires operators to stand for long periods of time. Operators must be able to lift containers in stacks of up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Stackers
Stackers palletize containers on pallets. We must set damaged containers aside and clean the work area every day. Stackers must average 1000 or more containers per hour for sorting line and 2000 or more containers per hour for washing. Work requires operators to stand for long periods of time. Operators must be able to lift containers in stacks of up to 50 lbs. repeatedly and be able to lift or drag pallets of up to 65 lbs.
- Pallet Jackers
Pallet jackers pull pallets of clean containers to the pallet wrapping area. Pallet jackers will be standing and walking for long periods of time. Work requires the ability to push and pull up to 100 wheeled pallet jacks per shift loaded with pallets of containers weighing up to 2000 lbs.
Major/Key Accountabilities
- Wear PPE per IFCO Systems standards and follow AIB standards.
- Ensure all required expectations are being met or exceeded regarding quality, machine operation, productivity, and safety.
- Follow best practices/safety requirements/Facility GMP's concerning shift/machine operation ensuring effective and productive performance in keeping with the highest standards expected by IFCO Systems for their customers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work within a fast pace, high volume facility performing manual labor.
- Willing to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must have ability to lift/maneuver up to 50 lbs. of product throughout the shift as required.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and policies as designated by IFCO, AIB, OSHA, and other governmental agencies.
