About the Role:

Aquila is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. The group supports the Missile Defense Agency in the development, deployment, testing, and enhancement of the ballistic missile defense system. This system is currently being developed to defend the United States, deployed forces, and allies from ballistic missile attacks. This group performs detailed system and component engineering, flight and ground test analysis, and advanced capability development in collaboration with the contractors and government program offices that are building the missile defense elements and components. The group has a need for an experienced software engineer to support a Missile Defense Agency (MDA)-sponsored program.

There are a few requirements for the position:

  • Must be a U.S Citizen (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
  • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
  • Must be within commutable distance of Lexington, Massachusetts.

What You'll Do:

The group has a need for an experienced software engineer to support a Missile Defense Agency (MDA)-sponsored program.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years of Software/Algorithm Development
  • Currently holds a Secret Clearance (OR a higher clearance)
  • 5 years of Software Documentation
  • 5 years of Java
  • 5 years of MATLAB
  • 5 years of Object Oriented Software Design and Development
  • 5 years of Programing Languages (e.g., Python, C, C++)
  • 5 years of Software Design/Development
  • 5 years of Linux/Unix
  • 5 years of Windows OS

Working Knowledge of the Following:

  • At least 5 years of software development experience with Linux/Unix, Windows, MATLAB, Java, Python and C/C++.
  • Experience working with configuration and control packages to maintain software baselines.
  • Must possess an active secret security clearance

And These Skills are a Bonus:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience and understanding of basic radar functions and general radar recording methodologies. This includes radar tracking and signal processing concepts such as ballistic/Keplerian motion, pulse compression, and Coherent processing.
  • Experience with DevSecOps and developing in a secure environment a plus
  • Experience with developing for operational platforms a plus
  • Experience with web services and Net Centricity a plus
  • Familiarity with Solaris and Fortran a plus

Work Schedule: Onsite - The candidate should expect to be onsite 5 days a week. Must be within commutable distance of Lexington, Massachusetts.
