Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $150,000 - $183,406. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is not a remote position.

Additional Compensation: This position is eligible for an end-of-year bonus.

Position Description:

Bluestaq is looking for a Principal Program Manager to join our team. As the ideal candidate, you will lead important programs from start to finish using your program management and systems engineering skills. You will be responsible for understanding software development for military applications and uniting teams to work towards Bluestaq's strategic objectives. Your success in this role will depend on your ability to navigate the complexities of program management, your agile methodology skills, and exceptional communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Building in the Defense Sector: Cultivate enduring relationships with Bluestaq customers, stakeholders, and partners, uniting the Bluestaq team towards shared objectives.
  • Program Lifecycle Management: Expertly guide programs from concept to completion, emphasizing strategic planning, vigilant monitoring, and effective control to achieve success.
  • Strategic Leadership: Spearhead cross-functional team efforts, aligning with Bluestaq's strategic goals, and optimally utilizing company resources.
  • Schedule Management Expertise: Implement detailed planning and scheduling, crucial in maintaining adaptable and successful program timelines.
  • Advanced Program Reporting: Enhance our program planning and reporting processes, ensuring thorough documentation and insightful program analysis.
  • Technical Leadership: Apply your technical expertise and operational insights to positively influence program results, resolve conflicts, and build consensus.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Act as a customer advocate within development teams, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet project deadlines with a focus on customer needs.
  • Innovation in Project Management Tools: Innovate with tools like Confluence and Jira, developing dashboards and templates that provide key operational and performance insights.

Basic Qualifications and Skills:

  • Program Management Experience: 12+ years in Program Management and Systems Engineering, with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Defense Community Expertise: Hands-on experience with the US Space Force and military experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of Agile Methodologies: Proficiency in Agile and traditional program management principles, able to lead diverse teams effectively.
  • Influential Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build trust and lead teams and stakeholders through influence.
  • Team Development and Mentorship: Strong mentoring skills, combined with exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Risk Management Capabilities: Skilled in identifying and mitigating potential risks to program success.
  • Analytical and Critical Thinking: Adept at evaluating alternative solutions and making logical decisions.
  • Efficient Multitasking: Competence in managing multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, able to communicate complex ideas clearly.
  • Commitment and Curiosity: High level of personal ownership and a continuous desire to learn and adapt.
  • This position will may require CONUS and OCONUS travel.

Required Education 12+ years in Program Management and Systems Engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree OR associate degree with 4 additional years of military or civilian analysis or operations beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 12 additional years of combined engineering and space operations experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Clearance Requirement: This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance. To be eligible for clearance, US Citizenship is required, and an employee must agree to participate in a background screen and credit check.

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
