Pressure Relief Valve Technician Trainee

Join our team as a Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) Technician Trainee in Benicia, CA.

(We're the team that makes sure things don't blow up when the pressure gets too hot!!)

As a Pressure Relief Valve Technician Trainee, you'll be learning the ropes of pressure relief valve maintenance, testing, and problem solving. If you have mechanical aptitude and the willingness to learn, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside our seasoned Technicians. You will have the tools, resources, and training to ensure your success. We're looking for someone with a great attitude who is motivated to learn a trade and develop a career.

You must have a valid driver's license in good standing and an excellent driving record.This is a safety-sensitive position. You are required to pass a pre-screen drug test that includes testing for marijuana. Once you achieve technician certification, you will be subject to random testing upon dispatch to refineries.

Hiring Range

The hiring range for this position is** $22.00 - $25.00 p/hour.** This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.

**What you'll be doing:**

• Local pick up and delivery of valves
• Sandblasting valves
• Teardown and Cleanup of valves
• Lapping, Assembly, Tagging, Sealing procedures and pre and post-testing valves
• Learning industry terminology and Traveler write-up process

**What we are looking for:**

• High School diploma

• 2+ years of experience of general mechanical competency

• Attention to detail; we work in a zero tolerance for error industry

• Good memorization skills

• Good physical strength and ability

• Basic math skills

• Basic computer skills: MS Outlook and ability to navigate and comprehend basic applications

• Great communication skills and a dedication to customer and service excellence

• Must have a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record

• Must be able to pass random drug testing, including hair follicle testing

• Ability to work overtime as needed, including periodic overnight and out of state travel

**Physical Demands:**

Good vision and auditory response to detect RV leaks and inspection. Physical ability to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding. Possess basic agility and endurance and lift, push, pull, carry a minimum of 50 lbs.

**Travel: **

Must be available to work overtime including periodic out of state travel. In your first 120 days, you will be expected to complete up to 4 weeks of training in our Santa Fe Springs, CA shop. Caltrol pays for all expenses.
