Transportation Safety and Compliance Assistant

Transportation Safety and Compliance Assistant – Large logistics company seeks an experienced Transportation Safety and Compliance Assistant to work at their facility in Carson, CA. You report to the Harbor Safety Manager and be responsible for supporting safety, regulatory compliance, and day to day transportation operations.

You will work full-time, Monday through Friday from 7:30AM to 4PM and earn $21 an hour. If hired directly by the company, you will enjoy a great benefits package. Plus, at the facility you will have access to an onsite lunchroom with a microwave and vending machines.

As the Safety and Compliance Assistant, you will also be responsible for contributing to the annual operating plan, building a localized EHS agenda and program based on AOP and risk assessment analysis, and maintaining safety and compliance related documentation.

To qualify for the Transportation Safety and Compliance Assistant position, you must have at least 2 years of safety experience, preferably within a transportation drayage company. You must also have a working knowledge or experience with the following:

• FMCSA and Safety Training Certifications.
• ELD orientation and monitoring (Samsara) as well as data mining electronic logging platforms.
• Data analysis, accident review and investigation, risk management and prevention skills and DVIR’s compliance.
• Investigation and processing of documented accidents and claims relative drayage operations.
• DOT, HazMat, and HOS regulations and requirements in the drayage industry.
• TMS Solutions including Port Pro, Profit Tools, Trinium, and Silver Bullet.
• Harbor operations at the Ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, Oakland, and rail locations. Knowledge of harbor, rail, and steamship line preferred.
