R&D Mechanical Engineering Tech

We have a contract opportunity for a R&D Mechanical Engineer Tech in Boulder Colorado. This position is initially approved for 4 months. The client is a world leading Research & Manufacturer of Diagnostic Medical Devices.

Pay Rate: $30.00/hr.

Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to enable development of next generation life science instruments.  Assemble and test engineering prototype instruments alongside a diverse R&D team.  Perform testing and analysis of components and systems to validate research and correlate mechanical models.  Candidates may also have the opportunity to perform root-cause investigations on systems and components to correct problems and improve product quality and reliability.

 Job Description:
•            Mechanically assemble electro-mechanical fluidic instruments from      sub assembly through complete instrument
•            Generate and release engineering documentation (initial assembly procedures, installation instructions, test reports) to support the development and manufacture life science instruments.
•            procure, track, stock, and kit instrument components.
•            Set up and maintain assembly stations, tools, test equipment, assembly & test fixtures.
 
Requirements:
•            Associates degree in mechanical engineering technology or higher; or working towards engineering degree. Recent graduates are may apply.
•            Knowledge and application of principles and theories of engineering.
•            CAD experience, SolidWorks experience is a plus.
•            Ability to assemble and disassemble instruments.
•            Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. 

Position involves both sitting and standing, using hands and fingers, handling or feeling objects, tools or controls, talking and hearing. Involves reaching with hands and arms, bending, crawling, and occasionally lifts and/or moves heavy objects. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision. May involve wearing protective work clothing. Works in inside environments. The noise level will vary.
