Job Description

Job Title: Licensed General Contractor

Location: Remote/Travel up to 50%

Reports To: CEO/COO

Position Summary: The General Contractor is responsible for overseeing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The General Contractor coordinates with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to manage resources, resolve issues, and ensure the successful execution of constructionprojects.


Key Responsibilities:

1.Project Management:

- Plan, organize, and manage construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and specifications.

- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate project planning, design, and execution.

2.Contract Administration:

- Review and negotiate contracts, bids, and proposals with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

- Ensure compliance with contract terms, specifications, building codes, and regulatory requirements.

3.Budget and Cost Control:

- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.

- Monitor costs, expenses, and resource allocation to optimize profitability and minimize financial risks.

4.Quality Assurance:

- Implement and maintain quality control measures, standards, and best practices to ensure construction quality and safety.

- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and assessments to identify and address defects, deficiencies, or non-compliance issues.

5.Risk Management:

- Identify potential risks, challenges, and issues related to construction projects and implement effective mitigation strategies.

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.

6.Team Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and manage construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

- Provide guidance, support, and training to staff and stakeholders to enhance performance, skills, and competencies.

7.Stakeholder Communication:

- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and project teams.

- Provide regular updates, progress reports, and feedback to ensure alignment with project objectives and expectations.

8.Resource Management:

- Coordinate and manage construction resources, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.

- Procure, negotiate, and oversee the delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment to support construction activities.


Qualifications

1.General Contractor License Required

2.Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, OSHA) are highly desirable.

3.Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, building codes, and regulations.

4.Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

5.Proficiency in construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

6.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to travel to project sites, climb ladders, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift heavy objects as needed.

Compliance with safety guidelines, protective equipment, and construction siteregulations.
