Job Description

The Robert S. Peabody Institute of Archaeology (RSPI) is seeking two Curatorial Assistants for 300 hours, in-person, over 10 weeks during the summer of 2024.

Main responsibilities

Will gain experience in many facets of collections stewardship and care of archaeological and Native American cultural collections.
Support the collections department through inventory work, rehousing and creation of custom housing mounts, data entry, conservation evaluation, and other collections related projects at time permits.
Exposure to NAGPRA and Duty of Care compliance work with collections.

Qualifications

Enrolled in or recently graduated from an MA program in museum studies, history, or archaeology
Ability to work independently and adhere to an established schedule and work plan
Well-organized and detail-oriented
Excellent communication skills
Team focused approach and positive attitude
