Position Summary:


The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is responsible for developing and executing the human resource strategy of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organization and performance management, training and development, total rewards and health care regulatory compliance. The CHRO provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team. This position reports directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer. The best qualified candidate will possess executive experience in leading the Human Resource function in a health care, regulatory environment.


Essential Duties:

  • Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company’s mission and strategic vision.
  • Develop HR plans and strategies to support the overall business operations objectives.
  • Manage and supervise the HR staff.
  • Work in conjunction with the Compliance Department to establish and maintain all aspects of the corporate compliance programs.
  • Prepare, monitor and fiscally manage the HR department budget.
  • Ensure that all HRIS data input and benefits are processed accurately
  • Ensure there are robust recruitment and retention strategies, processes and procedures to attract and retain qualified staff.
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each department regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Work with the organization’s executive management team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategic plan and objectives of the organization.
  • Work in collaboration with the Compliance Department on internal investigations and actions on matters related to human resources. Ensure investigations are promptly completed, corrective action is promptly taken, and disciplinary action is taken as appropriate.
  • Consult Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel Legal Affairs at appropriate times to discuss possible employee separations, DOL complaints, etc. Protect the attorney-client privilege as appropriate.
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of the organization.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
  • Provide overall leadership, training and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits and regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate the education of management, staff, and contractors on human resources requirements governed by state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines. Facilitate specialized training to ensure familiarity with relevant laws, regulation, standards, policies, procedures, and code of conduct. Establish and maintain systems for effectively documenting such educational activity.
  • Ensure that HR records are in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, The Joint Commission, HRSA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with human resources information systems, Paylocity a plus.
  • Microsoft office suite or related software.


Requirements:

Professional Experience/Educational Requirements


  • Minimum of ten years of HR experience; with at least three years of executive HR experience.
  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited college/university in human resources or related field; Advanced degree preferred.
  • Health Care HR experience, including regulatory compliance highly desired.



Certification/Licensure


HR Certification Required; SHRM Senior Certified Professional Certification preferred.
