Fort Wayne, IN: 18 FTE (4PM - 6:00 AM (14 hour shifts) M-F Shift 70 hours, Sat - Sun Shift 48 bours)

Marion, IN: 18 FTE (4PM - 6:00 AM (14 hour shifts) M-F Shift 70 hours, Sat - Sun Shift 48 hours

Pay Range: $28-32/hour

Description:

Sterile Processing Technicians are responsible for maintaining and repairing medical equipment in hospitals or other medical facilities. This includes processing, assembling, troubleshooting, preparing, sterilizing, storing, and issuing sterile and unsterile medical supplies and equipment. Candidates should possess knowledge of medical supply items, decontamination procedures, aseptic techniques, and the operation of sterilization equipment.

Experience:

• Experience in processing, assembling, and sterilizing medical supplies and equipment.
• Knowledge of technical names, general uses, physical characteristics, and operating conditions of medical supply items.
• Skill in operating washer-sterilizers, ultrasonic instrument cleaners, and gas and steam sterilizers.
• Experience working as an operating room technician, medical instrument technician, nursing assistant, corpsman, or laboratory worker.

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of 2 years of study that included at least 12 semester hours in courses related to medical supply processing, storage, and distribution, sterile supplies, or operating room and surgical technician courses.
• Active BLS Certificate
• Active License Sterile Processing Technicians
