Sr. Systems Administrator (Windows)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Systems Administrator will primarily provide build and 24x7 infrastructure support for Lightbeam Windows customer-facing servers and networks running primarily in the Azure cloud

This position will also work with their teammates to support network connectivity within cloud, cloud app, and to/from external customers.

As a member of the IT Infrastructure team, the Sr. Systems Administrator will ensure that Lightbeam systems are built and operated to meet all business standards for performance, capacity, availability, and security.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build, patch, support Windows and Linux VMs supporting Lightbeam’s customer-facing SaaS platforms in the Azure Cloud.
• Participation in team on-call rotations.
• Proactive performance and capacity monitoring.
• Ensure backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery of critical Azure infrastructure.
• Work with IT, DevOps, Development, and Support teams to resolve issues and ensure system performance, security, and connectivity.
• Documentation of systems processes and configurations in accordance with policies and compliance standards

 QUALIFYING JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• 7+ years of in-depth enterprise systems administration experience with Windows and/or Linux.
• Experience building, configuring, maintaining virtual servers, networks, storage, security, and cloud platform services in Microsoft Azure (preferred), AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Solid experience in enterprise networking and connectivity concepts.
• In-depth performance management and troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of VLANs, Site-Site VPN, DNS, Load Balancing, Switches, Routing, Centralized Monitoring/Alerting, Packet Sniffing, CLI, Firewalls, etc.
• Solid technical documentation experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365 suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams, et.al.

Additional Preferred Technical Skills:

• Advanced PowerShell or other scripting experience:  Automated deployments, updates, monitoring & alerting.
• Virtualization & System Administration:  Hyper V, Host/Cluster Migrations, VM Template, etc.
• Knowledge of Windows workstation/laptop support and management stack.
• Experience working w. DevOps teams implementing Infrastructure-as-code.
• Certificate Services and Encryption experience.
• HIPAA / HITRUST/ SOC2 compliance familiarity.
• Familiarity with software development tools and/or deployment practices.
• Experience with service management tools such as Jira.

EDUCATION:

Required: 

• A degree in Computer Science/Management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred: 

• MCSA / MCSE / Microsoft Azure Cloud / Network / Linux certifications are a strong plus.
