Site/Civil Engineer Lead

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Site/Civil Engineer to join our innovative team as the Intermountain Regional Civil Discipline Lead. Candidate should have 7 – 15 years of experience in the design and regulatory permitting of site plans, drainage studies, stormwater collection systems, Best Management and LID practices, and erosion control for construction. Specific experience in site/civil design and permitting for water and wastewater treatment plants and conveyance projects is advantageous.

Technical proficiency in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2020 or later for the design of site layout, grading, drainage, and yard piping is required. Additional further experience with Revit/BIM, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software, and Autodesk Vehicle Tracking desired. Familiarity with site survey practices, shop drawing review, and field construction QA/QC is a bonus. Candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or a related field. Candidate should hold a valid Professional Engineer license. Candidate should be able to effectively and proactively coordinate with regulatory officials as well as in-house design disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Architectural, etc.) and other offices/regions to ensure site design and permitting incorporates all necessary aspects of project. Position will be located in Tempe, AZ. Occasional local and regional travel required.

Requirements:

• Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (preferred) or a related field.
• Candidate should hold a valid Professional Engineer license.
• Candidate should be able to effectively and proactively coordinate with regulatory officials as well as in-house design disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Architectural, etc.) and other offices/regions to ensure site design and permitting incorporates all necessary aspects of project.
• Knowledge and understanding of civil engineering design principles and codes related to land development, water and wastewater plants, stormwater, and utilities.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D skills required including experience with Surfaces, Alignments, Profiles, Points, and Corridors.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D Hydraflow Extensions including Storm Sewers and Hydrographs.
• Microsoft Office skills required.
• Candidates must be an effective communicator and be able to successfully work in a multi-discipline team environment.
