Warehouse Assistant Manager

This is a dynamic, hands-on, role with overarching goals set to enhance logistic processes and improve productivity by administering and maintaining the full range of distribution activities, securing stakeholder objectives, and achieving performance initiatives all while strengthening employee engagement consistent with our policy and culture. The most successful candidate is a rising star, poised for both challenge and change, looking for dedicated mentorship and growth, but ready and able to lead an assigned team through the daily activities in the distribution center, ensuring efficient operations in a demanding and rewarding environment. This role reports to the Distribution and Operations Director.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees Inbound and Inventory Control in distribution center while maintaining a safe working environment.
• Works collaboratively across the organization to best impact our brands and guide a variety of special projects and initiatives.
• Verifies incoming and outgoing shipments meet company quality standards.
• Builds and maintains supplier and vendor relationships.
• Serves as a gatekeeper between departments requesting special projects in the absence of the Distribution Director.
• Maintains the overall organization and cleanliness of the warehouse and ensures good housekeeping standards are upheld.
• Assists setting performance goals and objectives, coaching, and annual performance reviews.
• Responsible for ensuring team compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and daily objectives.
• Collaborates with team to identify continuous improvement objectives and implements directives.
• Maintains the inventory levels within distribution center through cycle counts, min and max level verification and product relocation as needed to maintain efficient operations.
• Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and procedures.
• Performs audits to ensure associates are following safety, performance, and procedure standards.
• When necessary, able and willing to assume any distribution responsibility or position in the absence of another employee or direct report to achieve daily output needs, including picking and packing.
• Support teamwork and continuous improvement through performing other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Physical Requirements:

• Positive, optimistic, encouraging attitude with the ability to motivate team members through periods of intense growth.
• Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
• Minimum 2 years prior supervisory experience in distribution center environment either as a supervisor, assistant manager, or warehouse manager.
• In-depth knowledge of warehouse policies, procedures, understanding of records, inventories, and other routine documentation used in a warehouse setting is required.
• Previous Warehouse Management System and RF Scanning experience is required. 
• Microsoft Outlook and Excel experience required. Use of the Microsoft Suite of programs preferred. 
• Previous Material Handling Equipment (powered-electric) experience required. 
• Material Handling Equipment certification abilities a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication, and written communication skills required.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills preferred.
