JOB SUMMARY:

The Housing Personal Care Worker is responsible for providing support to residents of the Broadview Legacy Apartments who have been identified as needing additional support for maintaining their units. The Housing Personal Care Worker is also responsible for providing support in helping assigned residents with tracking bill payments, grocery shopping, trash, and laundry as needed. This position regularly collaborates with the Broadview Legacy Apartments housing care manager, property manager, and case manager supervisor to make the management of unit maintenance more effective.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure an effective lease process (50%):

  • Complete scheduled visits with assigned residents of Broadview Legacy Apartments.
  • Support the assigned residents with the routine cleaning and maintenance of their units.
  • Support the assigned residents with some daily living tasks such as trash disposal, laundry, and grocery shopping.
  • Complete weekly summaries of tasks completed on behalf of assigned residents and submit them to the Broadview Legacy case manager and SH case manager supervisor for review and approval.

Provide ongoing support and assistance to the supportive housing program.

General Responsibilities:

  • Vigorously safeguard the security and confidentiality of client data, comply with all provisions of the Alliance to End Homelessness’ HMIS End User Agreement, and share client data only explicitly permitted by a client’s written consent and by data sharing protocols established by the Alliance.
  • Always represent the organization professionally.
  • Maintain positive relations with clients, volunteers, co-workers, staff from other agencies, agency funders, and the public.
  • Interact effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and treat each individual with respect and dignity.
  • Demonstrate team behavior and promote a team-oriented environment.

Professional and program development:

  • Participate in relevant industry seminars, workshops, and networking events. Read about industry best practices to help ensure programming is in line with industry standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED with one year experience in social services.
  • Ability to quickly learn and develop data entry skills.
  • Must have smart phone to utilize agency's computers.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong communication skills. Ability to work with individuals with disabling conditions that include mental and physical health conditions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Ability to conduct self-directed work and/or function as a part of a team.
