Haka Incorporated is hiring for an experienced Production Manager Assistant working at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam.

The Production Manager Assistant shall have Navy Surface Ship/Vessels experience in addition to having knowledge of HM&E onboard the ship with the ability to track potential ship repairs that need to be accomplished, track, report and record casualty reports, read, decipher and draft naval messages, report and inform the MIDPAC N43 Department Head, and assist in the setup of the logistical components for the individuals conducting the repair work. Logistics consist of assisting in scheduling barges, scheduling berth shifts, assigning ship berth locations, setting up pier services to include (but not limited to) re-fueling, defueling, water and power requirements, conducting ship repair parts research, and tracking part shipment status. Services applicable to all Hawaii based surface ships to include visiting ships and other ships of interest deemed important by the N43 leadership. Shall be able to assist in liaising with maintenance community personnel in order to determine optimal repair path to support ship and Navy requirements.

  • Ship Check Inspections: conduct ship checks (to potentially include climbing of ladders & entering into tight spaces) in order to determine optimal repair path to support ship and Navy requirements. Required upon receipt of a casualty report (CASREP) and as needed basis. A summary of findings, pictures if appropriate, repair timeline and recommended actions required to be submitted via email to N43 leadership.
  • Document, Identify and Track potential ship repairs: conduct tracking of repair items and maintenance issues for Hawaii based ships and visiting ships in the Hawaiian operation area (OPAREA) to include ships reporting to subordinate commands that are located in other ports. Track CASREPs and ship degradations daily and disperse via email in excel format weekly to distribution group.
  • Conduct Repair Status Briefings: provide updates/status briefings to the N43 Department Head and upper chain of command on relevant/assigned maintenance and repair items of interest. Daily updates required for high visibility items deemed so by the Commander and weekly for longer-range and less critical items. Briefings to include, but not be limited to, email, excel and/or PowerPoint. Verbal briefings to command personnel expected daily or as needed. Weekly briefings to command and Shipyard counterparts expected weekly via PowerPoint.
  • Casualty Reports (CASREP) Tracking: maintain an accurate and up-to-date listing of casualty reports (CASREP) on all Hawaii based ships, and ships specified of special interest by the commander. Contractor shall also maintain an accurate and up to date listing of CASREPs for Hawaii based ships, Pacific Northwest (PACNORWEST) ships and for surface vessels temporarily operating in the Hawaiian OPAREA or visiting the basin. Listing should be tracked/updated daily via excel. Listing should be dispersed weekly via email.
  • Assist in Scheduling & Deconflicting Basin Support: assist in scheduling support services in support of ship repair to include, but not limited to: fueling support, de-fueling support, compensation water disposal, crane support, oily waste disposal and any other types of offloads/onloads to support the ship. Contractor must interact with Naval Supply Command (NAVSUP), Naval Facilities Command (NAVFAC), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Navy Region support entities. Request shall be attended to daily based on need and priority set by the Commander.
  • Assist in Basin Berth Scheduling: assist in scheduling berth locations for ship maintenance periods in addition to barge movements and berth shifts required to support repairs. Request shall be attended to daily based on need and priority set by the commander and tracked via excel. Berth laydown listing should be dispersed weekly via email.
  • Parts Tracking: keep track of associated repair parts needed to facilitate repairs and link to the corresponding casualty. The tracking method shall be documented within excel and 4 must stay in sync with requirements of section 4.4. The parts tracks listing must be dispersed weekly via email.
  • Assist in Drafting of Naval Messages: assist in drafting applicable ship cannibalization (CANNAB) messages for review, release, and approval when repair timeline and/or part delivery status will not support maintenance availability milestones and/or underway/mission requirements. CANNABs will be predicated and derived from CASREP and cannibalization request submitted from the ship. Short fused requests for emergency situations may require verbal approval via phone and email if message drafting timeline cannot support ship's mission.

Requirements:
  • SECRET security clearance
  • Desired to have hands-on experience with US government surface ships/vessels to include HM&E relevant experience. General knowledge in propulsion, electrical, control systems, structural, deck machinery, and auxiliaries are all considered subject areas essential for ships to support their missions. U.S. Navy experience preferred.
  • Shall be in sufficient physical health to accomplish routine ship checks on vessels in an industrial environment which may include, but not be limited to, climbing/descending ladders or steep stairs, entering tight spaces, entering dark spaces, entering hot spaces and any other reasonable area on a ship that may require inspection while safely conducting business in an industrial environment.
  • Shall be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word; and, can learn unique automated data applications as well as the ability to access DoD websites related to repair and maintenance in addition to Microsoft Teams.
  • Shall be able to speak fluent English and be able to successfully converse and coordinate repair logistics as well as tracking of repair parts.
  • Able to work/visit a ship in a dry dock.
