Before/After School Programs Staff

We are hiring now at all levels. The YMCA's Youth Programs are growing fast (because we are just that good), and we are seeking outstanding staff to support our expanding school-age offerings and grow into leadership roles.

We are looking for candidates who love to get creative with construction paper and duct tape, who are happy to help kids with even the most challenging homework and who are always ready for a game of tag. We are looking for staff to ensure our kiddos are safe, secure and engaged while teaching them our core values: respect, responsibility, honesty and caring.

Salary range: $16-22 per hour based on experience, availability, state licensing guidelines and ability to drive our minibuses for student pick up at local schools. This position is part time, year round with opportunities for full time for summer season. In addition, we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff (Spanish and English).

All YMCA part-time staff working 10+ hours each week are eligible to receive a free family membership: From teens to seniors, this benefit impacts the entire household! Staff who work 10+ hours a week earn 50% to 100% off YMCA of Northern Colorado Programs. That includes free YMCA Camp Noco traditional day camp, youth sports, learn to skate and swim lessons, and half off YMCA Camp Santa Maria overnight camp, personal training, specialty summer camps, and childcare. If you work 20+ hours a week, your benefits grow from there. Sick time is earned from day 1, and we make contributions of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund for eligible staff.

Shifts/Hours: Program hours are mornings 6:30-9am and/or 2:00-6:30pm M-F and between 6:30am-6:30pm on days when school is out for full day camp. We prefer staff to be available at least 3 consistent days per week, but we are also looking for substitutes.

Job responsibilities include working as part of our site team to ensure a safe and challenging environment for our school age participants implementing our core values, gym and group games, arts and crafts and fun field trips on days when school is out.

Requirements/Certifications: Applicants must be committed to being a positive role model with youth. Must have ability to work well on a team, communicate easily with youth, parents and colleagues and be committed to implementing YMCA programming and fun. Please be at least 18 years with at least 480 hours of verifiable experience working in leadership roles with 4 or more school age children (scouting, summer camp, sports, Sunday school or enrichment programs). Higher starting salaries for those who can drive our minibuses and/or meet Director level state guidelines.
