Server

The following duties will be required in support Treasury Dining Room staff and management as a Server:

The successful candidate will have experience serving high-end customers such as dignitaries and Federal Government Executive Management. Servers must have a high school diploma, food safety training, ServSafe Certification, and at least four (4) years of server experience in restaurants and events.

·        Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcoming guests upon arrival, guiding them to their tables, and providing menus.

·        Taking Orders: Taking food and drink orders from customers, ensuring accuracy, and noting any special requests or dietary restrictions.

·        Explaining Menu Items: Providing information about menu items, specials, and answering any questions customers may have about the dishes.

·        Serving Food and Drinks: Bringing orders to tables, ensuring proper presentation, and serving food and beverages promptly.

·        Checking for Customer Satisfaction: Checking in with diners to ensure they are satisfied with their meals, addressing any concerns, and providing additional service if needed.

·        Handling Payments: Presenting bills to customers, processing payments, and returning change or receipts, as necessary.

·        Maintaining Clean Tables: Clearing empty dishes and glassware, resetting tables, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.

·        Assisting with Special Requests: Accommodating special requests or modifications to menu items based on customer preferences.

·        Coordinating with Kitchen Staff: Communicating customer orders to the kitchen and ensuring that food is prepared and served correctly.

·        Upselling and Recommending: Suggesting additional menu items, drinks, or desserts to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.

·        Adhering to Service Standards: Following established service standards, such as timing for courses, proper etiquette, and overall customer service guidelines.

·        Handling Customer Complaints: Addressing customer concerns or complaints with professionalism and seeking assistance from management if needed.

·        Maintaining Product Knowledge: Staying informed about menu changes, specials, and any promotions to provide accurate information to customers.

·        Working as a Team: Collaborating with other restaurant staff, including kitchen personnel and fellow servers, to ensure smooth service.

Cleaning and Closing Duties: Performing closing tasks, such as cleaning tables, restocking supplies, and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the dining area.

The successful candidate will perform the duties and responsibilities under this requirement utilizing best commercial practices, as well as in compliance with regulatory guidance.
