Hilton Pensacola BeachWe are looking for a skilled and friendly Room Service teammate! This position plays a big role for creating and providing the best customer experience and satisfaction. Your ultimate goal should be to provide exceptional guest experience. Duties include answering room service calls, taking orders, and serving food and beverages to guests in their rooms in a timely and efficient manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Always approaches all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Promotes a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner.
- Engages and creates a positive experience for guests.
- Take hotel guests' room service food orders, typically over the phone, by accurately writing down the request and delivering it to the kitchen.
- Prepares orders and places them on the room service cart in a way that is appealing and secure.
- Delivers the guest's room service order directly to the guest's room, bringing the food cart into the room and supplying silverware and condiments to the guest, as needed.
- Collect and clean the dirty room service dishes left inside or outside the rooms.
- Prepares checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
- Completing the payment process for the orders which includes delivering a check and asking the hotel guest how they would like to pay for the order.
- Sees to the comfort of guests through answering questions, conveying special instructions to the kitchen and bar, and makes suggestions based on their preferences.
- Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, chinaware, glassware, etc., throughout the day.
- Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.
- Adheres to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines.
- Maintains a clean, healthy, and safe working area along with awareness of all sanitary practices.
- Handles guest complaints and solve problem to the degree possible.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum 1 year of server and customer service experience required, hospitality industry preferred.
3. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled form.
4. Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English in order to communicate with guests and team members.
5. Knowledge of reservation and POS systems.
6. Ability to work with computers and good knowledge of operating software preferred.
7. Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented.
8. Must be a team player.
