Job description

JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. We aim to hire individuals who are ready and committed to exceed the expectation of every guest by genuinely creating lasting memories, maintaining a positive attitude and by providing outstanding service every time.
BASIC FUNCTION: Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. They must also be knowledgeable on providing drink service and food service over the phone for our guests. The Server is responsible for assembling and delivering orders to the guest's room.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent.
โ€ข One-year food serving experience strongly preferred.
โ€ข Good food and service knowledge.
โ€ข Pleasant personality.
โ€ข Excellent communication skills.
โ€ข Ability to read, write and speak clearly and accurately in English.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
โ€ข Read order tickets and assemble the order in the kitchen area.
โ€ข Deliver food items to the guests in their rooms.
โ€ข Clean and bus guestrooms at the conclusion of the meal. Return dining items to the kitchen area.
โ€ข Keep hallways clean of trays, cups, etc.
โ€ข Complete ServSafe Food Handler Certification
โ€ข Complete ServSafe Responsible Beverage Service Course - or proof of current certification (i.e. Basset)
โ€ข Utilize SMS Teres POS purchasing and point of sale systems
โ€ข Responsible for cash handling and bank procedures as outlined by the Accounting Department
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
โ€ข Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
โ€ข Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
โ€ข Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.
โ€ข Help out in other areas of food and beverage as needed.
โ€ข Stocking shelves and reach-ins with product essential to department operation.
โ€ข Cleaning and organizing the work area.
ENVIRONMENT: Indoors & Outdoors with at times dimly lit or artificial lighting, may encounter hot temperatures. Occasionally exposed to slippery surfaces, loud noises and cold cooler/freezer temperatures.
