Real Estate Accountant- Closing Accounting Specialist
Status: Full Time
Reports to: CFO
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Real Estate Accountant and Closing Accounting Specialist will assume the responsibility for the handling of processing and paying agent commissions and accounts payable records including general ledger coding, audit vendor invoices and to prepare various reports. This position will report directly to and work closely with the CFO in collaboration with other Accounting and processing staff. Attention to detail is imperative.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Agent commission processing:
- Utilize the sales management system to process and pay agent commissions by verifying and computing sales data in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
- Paying agents their commissions via checks and direct deposits (ACH).
- Track sales production and splits of teams/team members.
- Answer agent questions surrounding their paychecks.
- Report rankings for quarterly awards to the national network.
Accounts payable:
- Receive, compile, sort , and audit vendor invoices, requests for checks, and checks.
Escrow Management:
- Receive, record, and deposit escrow/trust checks.
- Prepare escrow/trust reports.
- Issue earnest money checks from mutual releases.
General:
- Investigate and correct problems that agents and/or vendors may have.
- Assist and provide guidance to other department managers when requested.
- Have a strong attention to details, accuracy, and be comfortable with numbers.
- Must have strong work ethic and be proactive.
Educational Requirements: High School education required. Minimum of two years of college education or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
- Experience in Real Estate industry is a plus
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal skills
- Ability to prioritize and delegate work flow
- Computer skills and knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
